It's time for a foot-washin'...

During their trip, we took Marph and Poops to a nearby village for a visit. In this particular village, it is the custom of the people to wash the feet of their guests.

Needless to say, having your feet washed by people such as these is a humbling experience.
And this was just the beginning. After the foot-washing welcome they held a program in their local church with songs, dancing, and floral necklaces that they presented to us as the guests of honor.

In talking to them afterward, they simply said they felt totally unworthy of such a reception. Who are we to get our feet washed? Who are we to be fed like queens?

Perhaps you remember when Peter didn't want Jesus to wash his feet. If you've ever had your feet washed, you can sympathize with Peter.

And then imagine that the person washing your feet is the Son of God.

So glad your family got to come for a visit. Looks like you had (are having?) a wonderful time. Thinking of you when they head back and you stay put. Love you guys!
