Two ways...

"Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!"
Ps. 115

"Their idols are silver and gold, the work of human hands. They have mouths, but do not speak; eyes, but do not see...and they do not make a sound in their throat. Those who make them become like them; so do all who trust in them." Ps. 115
This is Durga, the Mother Goddess and the reason behind Dashain, the major Hindu festival that's going on now in our country. Every day people do special worship--offering fruit, water, and sometimes animals--to idols like this one. They appease these gods in order to gain good fortune for this life. They have put their trust in them. Many simply celebrate because its a holiday, and that means time off work and lots of good food with your family (sound familiar?). Please, please pray with us during this time.

The picture above, however, is a picture of those who trust in the God "who is in the heavens; He does all that He pleases." May it please Him to save many who are trusting in the works of man.

How sad, and so true about the U.S. celebrations. That's something to think about....
